SHAWANO, WI – Sun Drop Dayz organizers have announced the nonprofit groups that will benefit from this year’s festival while also playing a key role in making the event happen.
Committee President Brad Keuschel says the selection process focused on organizations that serve a wide range of community needs and make a strong local impact. Nonprofits apply through the Sun Drop Dayz website, and six groups are randomly selected each year to take part.
This year’s chosen organizations include Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin, SAFPARC, the Optimist Club, St. Francis Church, Shawano Paddlers, and the NWTC Educational Foundation.
Keuschel says the nonprofits are more than just beneficiaries, they help power the festival. Each organization fills a dozen or more volunteer shifts, with projects ranging from trash cleanup to serving as bartenders in the beer tent.
Sun Drop Dayz returns to Shawano June 5 and 6, bringing music, activities, and community involvement back to downtown while supporting local causes.
