Shawano police responded to a wide range of calls throughout the day Monday, including medical emergencies, arrests, and multiple animal-related incidents.
Early in the morning, officers assisted ambulance crews on South Cleveland Street for a medical call. Later, a probation and parole pickup led to an arrest on East Green Bay Street, followed by a separate drug-related incident near South Lincoln and East Richmond Streets.
Police also handled several shoplifting cases at local businesses, including Walmart and Charlie’s County Market, where citations were issued and repeat thefts were reported. Officers responded to reports of reckless driving near Green Bay and Main Streets, as well as trespassing and noise complaints in residential areas.
Animal calls were frequent, including a report of a deer stuck on ice near the bridge behind the jail and concerns about a neglected dog near the middle school. Officers also assisted with an injured stray dog brought to the Humane Society.
Welfare checks, juvenile issues at the middle school, and multiple suspicious activity calls rounded out a busy day for Shawano police.
Clintonville police stayed busy throughout the day Monday with patrols, medical calls, and traffic enforcement across the city.
Officers began the early morning hours conducting business checks along County Highway I, East Green Tree Road, and South Main Street. A welfare check was later reported on Wilson Street.
Extra patrols were conducted in several neighborhoods, including Anne Street, South Madison Street, Pine Street, and West Green Tree Road. Police also responded to a truancy complaint on 20th Street late in the morning.
Emergency crews were called to multiple ambulance runs on West Street, Wilson Street, and Sixth Street, while firefighters responded to a fire alarm on West Green Tree Road around midday.
Throughout the afternoon and evening, officers assisted residents on Eighth Street and made several traffic stops, including at North 12th and West 14th Streets, West Green Tree Road and North Clinton Avenue, and East Madison Street at South Main.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled a busy slate of calls across the county Monday, ranging from emergency responses and arrests to traffic issues and animal complaints.
Deputies were dispatched early in the morning to a 911 call near Highway 47, followed by an assist call on Cedar Avenue where deputies helped an individual who had fallen inside their home. Several animal-related calls were reported throughout the morning, including sick or injured deer in multiple locations and a report of a vicious dog attack in Cecil. No serious injuries were reported.
Midday activity included courthouse security in Shawano, a fire alarm response at Bonduel High School, and a warrant pickup in the city of Shawano after a woman turned herself in. Deputies also responded to a welfare check in Bowler and a shoplifting complaint at a Tigerton convenience store.
Throughout the afternoon, deputies investigated reckless driving near Highway 29 and Redwood Drive, handled traffic stops, and took reports of property damage at a Mattoon business. Additional calls included an animal bite reported through a Shawano clinic and several disabled vehicles along Highway 29, some involving roadway damage that required cleanup.
Evening hours brought mutual aid responses with fire departments, additional disabled vehicle calls, and an operating while intoxicated arrest. Deputies closed out the night with a welfare check near Hoffa Park after concerns were raised about a stranded motorist.
