NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – With the close of holiday hunts and the regular deer season, the focus of Wisconsin’s outdoor community is shifting to one of the state’s most unique traditions, sturgeon spearing on the Lake Winnebago system. Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Warden Clark Delzer says the season officially opens February 14, marking the start of a highly anticipated event for spearers across the region.
