NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is inviting the public to learn more about fisheries management in the Green Bay area this week through a pair of informational meetings.
Both sessions begin at 6 p.m. and will be offered in person at the DNR Service Center in Green Bay as well as online. Tonight’s meeting will focus on Green Bay walleye management, including updated results from a large reward tag study, along with information on spawning populations and recruitment trends.
Tuesday’s session will turn attention to trout habitat improvement projects and fish population trends in Marinette County and Oconto County. Topics will include habitat restoration efforts and ongoing management actions in area streams.
Officials say the meetings provide an opportunity for residents to meet DNR fisheries staff and gain a better understanding of how game fish populations are monitored and managed across the region.
