SHAWANO, WI – Preschool and 4K students from Sacred Heart Catholic School took learning beyond the classroom during a recent field trip to the Green Bay Children’s Museum.
The visit on January 28 gave students the chance to explore a wide range of hands-on exhibits designed to support early childhood development. Children climbed inside a fire truck, slid down a fire pole, delivered mail in a kid-sized post office, explored large-scale anatomy displays, experimented with air tubes, splashed at water stations, and created art through interactive stations.
School leaders say experiences like this are an important part of early learning. Field trips help students build confidence and independence, strengthen classroom relationships, and connect lessons to real-world environments.
Educators also note that hands-on exploration encourages critical thinking, creativity, and social development while giving children the opportunity to learn through movement and play.
Sacred Heart Catholic School expressed gratitude to the Green Bay Children’s Museum for providing an engaging environment for young learners, calling the day one filled with excitement, discovery, and meaningful learning.
