SHAWANO, WI- The State Fire Marshall, in cooperation with the Shawano Area Fire Department, is investigating a fatal house fire that occurred around 2:30 a.m. on January 27, 2026, in the 600 block of South Union Street in the City of Shawano.
Police officers and firefighters were dispatched to a report of a residential structure fire and arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames. After the fire was brought under control, emergency personnel located one adult inside the residence. The individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members.
No additional injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
