Seymour 85, The Prairie School 48
Seymour showed why it’s one of the state’s top teams, rolling past The Prairie School 85-48 Saturday morning at the Deer District Prep Showcase inside Fiserv Forum.
The Thunder came out firing, building a commanding 51-28 halftime lead and never looking back. Kyler Marks led Seymour with 25 points, while Jordan Krause added 16 and Isaac Feske chipped in 14 as Seymour improved to 14-0 on the season.
The Prairie School couldn’t slow Seymour’s fast start and depth.
Seymour continued to pour it on after the break, outscoring Prairie School 34-20 in the second half to cruise to the 37-point win.
Slinger 58, Freedom 38
Slinger delivered a strong defensive performance to knock off top-ranked in Division 3 Freedom 58–38 in the Deer District Prep Showcase at Fiserv Forum on Saturday night.
The Owls took control early, leading 25–20 after one quarter before pulling away in the second to build a 33–18 advantage at halftime. Freedom struggled to find consistent offense against Slinger’s pressure and never fully recovered.
Jack Kohnen led all scorers with 24 points for Slinger, while Joey Kohnen added 15 as the Owls improved to 12–3 on the season. JJ Feilbach chipped in seven in a balanced effort.
For Freedom (15–1), Cal Calhoon paced the Irish with eight points, followed by Owen Henkel with seven and Kaden Vandenberg with six. Despite entering unbeaten in recent play, Freedom couldn’t match Slinger’s tempo and defensive intensity.
The win marked a statement victory for the No. 3 Owls on a big stage in Milwaukee.
