TOWN OF WAUPACA, WI – The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office reports a SWAT team was activated Wednesday morning following a domestic abuse incident in the Town of Waupaca.
According to authorities, the Waupaca County SWAT Team was deployed to execute a search and arrest warrant for a dangerous, armed suspect stemming from the domestic abuse investigation. The operation took place late Wednesday morning.
During the incident, deputies were able to safely rescue a female victim from the residence. A 47-year-old man from Weyauwega was taken into custody without further incident.
Officials say multiple criminal charges are being referred against the suspect, including charges with domestic abuse enhancers. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional details have not yet been released.
The SWAT operation involved assistance from several agencies, including local police departments, Waupaca County Emergency Management, ambulance services, and the Wisconsin State Patrol. Authorities say the incident was resolved safely with no injuries reported.
