Shawano Police responded to a wide range of calls across the city yesterday. Officers conducted multiple welfare checks, including one involving a suicidal individual who was connected with crisis services, and another after reports of an elderly couple sleeping in a vehicle near East Green Bay Street.
Police also investigated a reported sexual assault, though details have not yet been released as the case remains active.
Several drug-related incidents were reported at a South Lincoln Street apartment, involving multiple officers over several hours. Officers also handled vehicle lockouts, trespassing complaints, and juvenile-related calls at Shawano Community High School.
Additional calls included a parking complaint near South Sawyer Street, a stray dog near North Airport Drive, and assistance to medical responders on East Elizabeth Street.
Clintonville Police were active yesterday. Officers began the early morning hours conducting multiple business checks in industrial areas and along Main Street, part of routine patrol efforts to deter crime. Police were also called to a carbon monoxide alarm on South Main Street, where crews checked the situation and ensured residents were safe.
Later in the morning, officers handled several 911 calls, a traffic stop near Second and Main Streets, and a welfare check on South Main Street. Police also responded to a truancy complaint on West Green Tree Road.
Throughout the afternoon, Clintonville Police assisted with ambulance calls, a vehicle lockout, and additional welfare checks at several locations. In the evening, officers responded to an information report on Stewart Street and investigated a domestic incident on Ninth Street.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted with multiple vehicle-related incidents, including several disabled vehicles on Highway 29, Highway 47, and county roads in Shawano, Bonduel, and Cecil. Crews also cleared traffic hazards, including multiple reports of deer in the roadway.
Deputies handled several transports, including individuals moved between the Shawano County Jail, work release, and medical facilities. Courthouse security was also a focus, with deputies assigned to multiple injunction and divorce hearings throughout the day to maintain safety inside the Shawano County Courthouse.
In Tigerton and Wittenberg, deputies responded to a suspicious incident involving vandalism, where a strange message was spray-painted in the snow near a private residence. Authorities say the incident remains under investigation. Deputies were also notified of an animal bite in the Wittenberg area, reported through the Marathon County Health Department.
Additional calls included assists to fire crews, a reckless driving complaint, lockouts, 911 hang-up calls, and help locating recovered property at Ho-Chunk Casino. Late Tuesday night, deputies investigated a traffic accident after a vehicle struck a mailbox and became stuck in a ditch.
In Bowler, the Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department reported an active theft investigation involving a reported fraudulent check.
