WAUPACA, WI- The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office reports a high-speed vehicle pursuit Monday night that began in Outagamie County and ended in the City of Waupaca. Officials say the chase involved the Wisconsin State Patrol and reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour before the suspect vehicle was tracked into Waupaca using FLOCK cameras. When officers attempted to make contact, the driver intentionally rammed two squad cars and fled before crashing into a tree just short of a residence. A 37-year-old man from Menasha was taken into custody after medical treatment and faces numerous charges, including fifth-offense OWI, fleeing, reckless endangering safety, bail jumping, and operating after revocation. Authorities say no one was injured, damage was minimal, and the case highlights successful multi-agency teamwork and technology removing a dangerous driver from the road.
