WAUPACA COUNTY, WI – The Waupaca County Natural Resources Foundation has awarded more than $12,000 in unrestricted grants to organizations across the county. The funding will support a variety of outdoor recreation and natural resource projects in communities throughout Waupaca County.
Foundation leaders say the nonprofit has been operating for more than 20 years, focusing on helping smaller organizations that may not have the resources to manage complex financial and administrative requirements on their own. The foundation provides financial oversight, receivership services, and assistance with grant management, land donations, auditing, and long-term financial tracking.
Recipients of the 2026 grants include the Sturgeon Trail, Little Wolf Trails of Manawa, Friends of Waupaca Parks, Clintonville Trails, Greater Waupaca Area Parks and Trails, and the Waupaca Lakemen Field Project. Each group works to enhance access to outdoor recreation and protect natural spaces in their respective communities.
Officials say the unrestricted nature of the grants gives recipient organizations flexibility to address their most pressing needs, whether that includes maintenance, improvements, or expansion of existing projects.
Foundation leaders say the grants reflect their ongoing mission to strengthen partnerships and support conservation, parks, and trail initiatives that benefit residents and visitors across Waupaca County.
