CLINTONVILLE, WI – The Clintonville Police Department has released updated information regarding a reported stabbing incident that occurred Thursday evening on Glendale Court in Clintonville.
Police were originally dispatched to the residence at approximately 5:36 p.m. on January 15 after receiving a report of a stabbing. Officers arrived to find three adults inside the home, all of whom cooperated and exited the residence. The identified victim was treated at the scene by the Clintonville Area Ambulance Service for non-life-threatening injuries and later transported to a local hospital, where the individual was treated and released.
Following continued investigation, police determined that the reported victim had self-inflicted the injuries and then falsely reported that an unknown person was responsible. Authorities say two other individuals associated with the residence were not present at the time of the incident.
As a result of the investigation, charges of disorderly conduct and resisting or obstructing an officer will be referred to the Waupaca County District Attorney’s Office. A 22-year-old man was also taken into custody on a probation and parole hold and transported to the Waupaca County Jail.
Police officials emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the community. Additional information will be released if it becomes available.
