TOWN OF LENA, WI – The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office says a fatal snowmobile crash was reported Tuesday night around 7:32 in the Town of Lena.
According to deputies, a 15-year-old boy from Lena was operating a snowmobile eastbound on Arndt Road on private property when the machine lost control and was found on its side in a ditch. Life-saving measures were attempted at the scene, and the teen was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, with assistance from the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Authorities say no additional information is being released at this time.
