Shawano police stayed busy Thursday responding to a wide range of calls across the city. Officers were first called just before 2 a.m. to a noise complaint on South Sawyer Street, where a resident reported ongoing disturbances that were disrupting a household with an infant. The situation was handled without further incident
Later in the morning, police responded to a utility issue after traffic signals malfunctioned along Green Bay Street near Airport Drive, causing lights to remain stuck on green. Officers worked with city crews to address the problem
Several traffic-related calls were reported throughout the day, including reckless driving complaints at Main and Division Streets, Ellis Street and Green Bay Street, and assistance with a disabled vehicle on Evergreen Street
Police also responded to a reported fight on South Sawyer Street, a disturbance on West Richmond Street involving a domestic dispute, and a harassment complaint on River Heights Drive. In the evening, officers conducted a welfare check at the Shawano Library after concerns were raised about a homeless individual potentially facing hypothermia; officers ensured the individual moved to a safer location
Clintonville Police stayed active throughout Thursday, responding to a wide range of calls across the city during the overnight and daytime hours.
Officers began the early morning with a series of business checks, focusing on locations along South Main Street, 10th Street, 11th Street, and Memorial Circle, as part of routine patrols aimed at deterring crime. An alarm call on South Main Street was also reported shortly after four o’clock in the morning.
During the day, police conducted extra patrols on Anne Street and 20th Street, responded to an information call on West Green Tree Road, and took reports of a sex offense on Robert Street and harassment on East 12th Street, both of which remain under investigation.
Officers also performed a welfare check on Harriet Street, handled a lost and found report on 8th Street, and assisted another agency in Waupaca County.
Thursday evening activity included a traffic stop near South Main and 7th Street, followed by a motor vehicle crash on South Main Street. The day concluded with another alarm call on Industrial Avenue late Thursday night.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled a busy 24-hour period on Thursday, responding to 35 incidents across the county, ranging from traffic crashes and reckless driving to welfare checks and criminal investigations.
Deputies began the day just after midnight by picking up a suspect on an active warrant at the Brown County Jail. Throughout the morning, multiple traffic incidents were reported along Highway 29, including reckless driving complaints, disabled vehicles, and debris in the roadway — one involving a steel door and frame blocking traffic, which was later cleared.
Deputies also responded to several medical and welfare-related calls, including assist-ambulance responses in Birnamwood, Cecil, and at the Shawano County Work Release Center. A welfare check was conducted at the North Star Casino Bingo Resort after reports of a woman behaving erratically inside the hotel.
Animal-related calls were also common, with deputies responding to multiple deer incidents, including injured deer along county roads and a separate dog bite incident in Gresham, where a dog’s rabies vaccination was reported expired.
Investigators are also looking into an internet sex crime case reported in Bonduel, which remains under investigation. In another serious incident, deputies took a report of a restraining order violation in the Town of Richmond, with harassment allegations involving family members.
Thursday evening, deputies responded to a traffic crash with injuries near Cecil, along with several 911 calls in the Shawano area. Multiple reckless driving complaints were also reported into the night.
Meanwhile, Stockbridge-Munsee Police handled four calls of their own, including a welfare check, an animal bite, and an active weapon offense investigation at a residence on South Sawyer Street in Shawano, which remains under investigation.
