Shawano Police were kept busy Tuesday responding to a wide range of calls across the city.
Officers handled multiple repossessions during the morning and afternoon hours, along with several information reports and suspicious activity complaints. Police also responded to traffic-related incidents, including a minor crash in the Charlie’s County Market parking lot that resulted in no injuries, but involved a driver without insurance.
Schools accounted for several calls, including a tobacco violation at Shawano Community High School and an early dismissal issue that required officers to help reunite a student with a parent due to hazardous road conditions.
Later in the day, officers responded to a weapon-related incident near West Lieg Avenue and South Lafayette Street. A concealed firearm was located, and authorities confirmed no valid carry permit was found. A K-9 unit was called to assist, and one individual was detained.
Additional calls included a drug complaint, a reported scam, medical assistance, noise complaints, and several accidental 911 calls. No major injuries were reported.
Clintonville Police responded to a wide range of calls throughout the day Tuesday, including a vehicle pursuit just after midnight near Highway 45 and Hilltop Road. Details of that incident have not yet been released.
Officers conducted extra patrols in residential neighborhoods along Anne Street and 20th Street during the early morning hours, followed by an alarm call on Rohrer Street and a welfare check on North 12th Street.
Late morning and early afternoon activity included an ordinance violation on West 14th Street and an ambulance response on 6th Street. Police were also called to investigate a suspicious situation on South Main Street.
Several traffic stops were conducted throughout the afternoon and evening, including at 15th Street and North Main and later along South Main Street. Police also responded to a reported theft and a burglary, both on South Main Street.
Additional calls included a disabled vehicle, multiple vehicle lockouts, and routine assistance to motorists. No injuries were reported in connection with these incidents.
Shawano County deputies responded to a busy stretch of calls Tuesday, many of them tied to traffic incidents and public safety concerns across the county.
Early in the morning, deputies handled an operating while intoxicated investigation near Highways 29 and 22. That was followed by a probation violation on Regina Road and multiple traffic crashes, including several involving deer and a personal-injury accident along Highway 29 near the Wittenberg-Morrison town line.
Throughout the day, deputies assisted motorists with disabled vehicles, responded to road hazards, and coordinated repairs after traffic signs were damaged near the Highway 29 and Highway 45 interchange. Animal-related calls were also common, including stray animals and injured deer along county roadways.
Law enforcement provided courthouse security in Shawano, assisted with inmate transports, and carried out an eviction in the city during the afternoon hours. Deputies also investigated a reported scam in the Bowler area involving threats to release personal images online.
Two hit-and-run crashes were reported Tuesday evening, one near County Highway M and Capitol Drive, and another along County Highway D in the Marion area. Both incidents remain under investigation.
Additional calls included noise complaints, welfare checks, and multiple 911 hang-ups that were determined to be non-emergencies.
Meanwhile, Stockbridge-Munsee Police responded to several calls including welfare checks, a civil dispute, animal complaints, and a 911 call that was later canceled.
