WAUPACA, WI – Timothy Wilz, the sheriff of Waupaca County, has formally endorsed Tom Tiffany in his run for governor of Wisconsin.
Wilz is one of 20 sheriffs from across the state who have announced their support for Tiffany, citing concerns about public safety and the direction of criminal justice policy. The endorsements come as law enforcement leaders weigh in on the governor’s race, emphasizing crime, repeat offenders, and community safety as key issues.
In a statement following the endorsement, Tiffany said Wisconsin needs stronger leadership on public safety, pointing to what he described as repeat offenders being released back into communities and growing concerns about organized crime. He said those issues are impacting families and local law enforcement agencies statewide.
Tiffany outlined several priorities if elected governor, including restoring law and order, ending sanctuary jurisdictions, and strengthening support for law enforcement. He said his goal is to make communities across Wisconsin safer for families, businesses, and first responders.
The endorsement from Sheriff Wilz adds to a growing list of law enforcement officials publicly backing Tiffany as the campaign for governor continues to take shape.
