Clintonville Police handled a variety of calls Sunday, December twenty-eighth, ranging from routine patrols to emergency responses.
Officers conducted multiple business checks and extra patrols overnight and throughout the day, including on South Main Street, Anne Street, 20th Street, and later on Seventh Street, as part of ongoing efforts to deter crime and maintain a visible police presence.
Emergency crews responded to two ambulance calls, one on West Campus Drive during the morning hours and another on Wilson Street early in the afternoon. No additional details on patient conditions were released.
Police also assisted at a business on West Green Tree Road and responded to a motor vehicle crash on Eighth Street just after noon. The extent of injuries, if any, was not immediately available.
Later in the day, officers conducted a traffic stop on South Main Street and investigated a noise complaint on East Morning Glory Drive during the evening hours.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office reports a busy day Sunday, December twenty-eighth, with deputies responding to numerous calls across the county, many related to winter driving conditions.
Several traffic crashes were reported throughout the day, including multiple vehicles sliding into ditches along Highways 29, 153, and county roads near Tigerton and Wittenberg. Most of the crashes were non-injury incidents, though deputies remind drivers to slow down and adjust for icy road conditions.
Deputies also responded to a number of 9-1-1 hang-up and open-line calls, where faint voices or no response could be heard. All were checked and cleared without further incident.
Law enforcement handled welfare checks in Pulaski and Wittenberg, including one case involving a reported suicidal threat. Deputies were able to make contact and ensure appropriate assistance was provided.
Other calls included a reported animal bite near Willow Creek Road, a threatening complaint in Mattoon, utility and wire-down issues, and several open door or window checks at businesses and residences.
A warrant arrest was also made in the Bowler area without incident.
