Shawano Police were kept busy Sunday responding to several incidents across the city.
Early in the morning, officers handled a curfew violation, though no further details were released.
Later, police assisted the Shawano Fire Department after a commercial fire alarm was triggered at Shawano High School. Officers and firefighters responded quickly, but authorities report no smoke or flames were found. The alarm was believed to be accidental, and the scene was cleared within about a half hour.
Just before 9 a.m., officers were called to a disorderly conduct complaint at an apartment on South Sawyer Street. A neighbor reported loud banging and objects being thrown inside a nearby unit where a baby was present. Officers responded, and the incident remains under investigation.
In the early afternoon, police responded to a fraud complaint at the Family Dollar on South Main Street. Store staff reported a customer allegedly used a receipt from a different day to fraudulently obtain a refund for items taken from the shelves. Officers documented the incident as an active case.
Clintonville Police stayed active throughout Sunday, responding to a wide range of calls across the city.
Officers began the overnight hours with tavern and business checks along South Main Street, followed by a suspicious activity report on Seventh Street. Extra patrols were also conducted near West Green Tree Road, including a school patrol during early morning hours.
Just after 2 a.m., police assisted with a disabled vehicle at Highway 45 and Hilltop Road, helping keep traffic moving safely. Throughout the day, officers increased visibility with extra patrols on Anne Street, 20th Street, and at Pickerel Point Playground and Picnic Point.
Around noon, police responded to an alarm on 11th Street, and shortly before one o’clock, a 911 call on 9th Street prompted an officer response. No further details were released.
In the evening, officers handled an animal nuisance complaint on Ridge Road and later responded to a reported elder abuse incident on West Green Tree Road, which remains under investigation.
The night concluded with an ambulance assist on Anne Street, a welfare check on Hughes Street, and a traffic stop at South Main and West Second Street.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to 19 calls for service on Sunday, ranging from disturbances and crashes to welfare checks and medical assists.
Deputies were first called out just after 2:30 Sunday morning for a disturbance on South Warrington Avenue in the Village of Cecil, an incident that remains active. About an hour later, deputies investigated a 911 call near Butternut Road in the Town of Birnamwood, which was later closed.
Late morning included an ambulance assist in Wittenberg, followed by a parking problem in the City of Shawano, where a vehicle was blocking access for emergency responders. Deputies also checked a burglar alarm on Much Road and responded to a traffic hazard involving a deer strike on County Highway M.
During the afternoon, deputies handled multiple traffic-related incidents, including a property-damage crash on Curt Black Road and another disturbance on Old Shawano Road, both still under investigation. A vehicle lockout in Seymour and a disabled vehicle along Highway 29 were also reported.
Early evening brought additional crashes, including a road-rage related accident near Highway 45 in Birnamwood, along with another 911 call on Friendship Road.
Later in the night, deputies conducted welfare checks on White Clay Lake Drive and Curt Black Road, assisted with an intoxicated person complaint at the North Star Casino, and closed out the night responding to a threatening situation in the Town of Leopolis.
