Shawano police handled a wide range of calls Tuesday, from neighborhood disturbances to serious violent crime.
Early in the morning, officers responded to a noise complaint on the city’s south side, where residents reported loud behavior and possible underage drinking. Police also assisted with multiple vehicle repossessions and recovered lost property that was later returned to its owner.
Throughout the day, officers responded to several 9-1-1 calls, including abandoned calls where no emergency was found. Police also assisted the Wisconsin Department of Revenue with an investigation involving gaming machines at a local gas station.
Later in the afternoon, officers investigated a report of reckless driving near Highway 22 and conducted a welfare check after a medical alert system detected a possible fall. The individual was checked and the situation resolved.
The most serious incident occurred late Tuesday night when police responded to a reported stabbing at an apartment on South Lincoln Street. Multiple officers were called to the scene, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Clintonville Police were kept busy Wednesday responding to a wide variety of calls across the city.
Officers conducted multiple traffic stops during the early morning and late evening hours, including stops along South Main Street, County Highway I, and near Bennett Street. Extra patrols were also requested on Anne Street and 20th Street, with additional attention given to school and business areas along West Green Tree Road.
Late in the morning, officers investigated reports of suspicious activity on Morning Glory Drive and Robert Street. A criminal mischief complaint was later reported on Waupaca Street and remains under investigation.
Police also responded to several service calls, including a lockout on South Main Street, an ambulance request on North Main Street, and a welfare check on Anne Street.
During the afternoon, officers handled an ordinance violation on 8th Street and responded to a motor vehicle crash at East 12th Street and North Main Street. A death investigation was reported along West Green Tree Road.
Evening calls included a theft complaint on West Madison Street, a trespassing report on North Main Street, and a car-versus-deer crash on Highway 22.
Shawano County Sheriff’s deputies handled a wide range of calls across the county Yesterday ranging from traffic incidents to welfare checks and ongoing investigations.
Early in the morning, deputies responded to a disabled vehicle along Highway 29 near the County K exit. The vehicle was found to have a dead battery and was safely addressed without injuries. Later in the morning, deputies investigated a reported alarm at a rural cabin near Birnamwood. The property owners were contacted, and no signs of forced entry were reported.
Traffic-related calls remained steady throughout the day. Deputies responded to multiple hazards and property-damage crashes, including incidents along Highway 29, Highway 22 near Bonduel, and County Highway A. No serious injuries were reported in those crashes.
Around mid-morning, deputies assisted fire crews with a reported gas main issue at a rural residence, and the situation remained active for a period as crews worked to secure the area.
Just before noon, deputies began investigating a report of threatening messages made through social media and text communications. That investigation remains active.
Additional calls included multiple courthouse security incidents in Shawano, a reckless driving complaint along Highway 22, and several welfare checks throughout the evening hours. In one case, deputies checked on a resident after neighbors reported unusual activity and concerns for safety.
Late Wednesday night, deputies also responded to a report of an animal bite involving a dog, with the injured person receiving medical treatment.
