CLINTONVILLE, WI – Clintonville Elementary School is moving ahead with construction on its new outdoor classroom, a project that began as a small PTO fundraiser and quickly grew into a major community-backed initiative. Originally estimated at $12,000, the Hickory Hut expanded in scope after substantial support from families, local businesses, and an anonymous $15,000 donor.
The project officially broke ground in late October, and while construction is underway, the PTO continues fundraising to add seating and potentially future amenities such as electricity.
School leaders expect the outdoor classroom to be completed this spring. Once finished, the space will serve students during the school year and be available for community use throughout the summer, reinforcing its role as a shared resource for learning and gathering.
