Around 8 a.m., police responded to a report of a cat bite on South Main Street. According to health officials, the animal involved was the victim’s own cat and was not up to date on vaccinations. An officer followed up for documentation.
Minutes later, police were called to an attempted theft on East Division Street. A second theft complaint followed from South Main Street involving missing city property.
Officers also assisted schools with routine liaison visits and conducted several welfare and information checks throughout the city.
Late in the morning, police investigated a disorderly conduct complaint on South Water Street after a neighbor reported a garbage can being thrown the night before.

Officers conducted several extra patrols early in the morning across Brent Street, 20th Street, and Anne Street as part of routine neighborhood checks. A short time later, police responded to an animal problem on Hughes Street before completing a scheduled school patrol on Green Tree Road.
Around 8:30 a.m., officers assisted with a traffic issue at the intersection of Highways 45 and 22. That was followed by three separate welfare checks—one on Lakeside Drive and two along South Main Street.
A call for mental health assistance came in just after 1 p.m. on Green Tree Road, and a stray animal was reported on South Main Street shortly afterward.
Evening activity included a vehicle lockout on Spring Street and multiple animal-related calls, including nuisances and loose animals on Seventh Street and Industrial Avenue.
Around 8:20 p.m., officers checked on an open door at a residence on Lens Court, followed by a burglar alarm on Third Street that was investigated and cleared. The day wrapped up with another school patrol on Green Tree Road just after 9 p.m.
Shawano County Sheriff’s Department reported Deputies began the early-morning hours with a welfare check in Wittenberg around 1:30 a.m., after family members were unable to reach a resident. The individual was located and checked on.
Just after 2:30 a.m., deputies handled two parking complaints in Wittenberg, with warnings issued in both cases.
Around 6:50 a.m., staff at a Wittenberg care facility reported a missing prescription narcotic. Deputies documented the incident for follow-up.
The morning continued with a property-damage crash near Crest Drive and Green Valley Road, followed later by a call to Tigerton for a lift assist after a resident suffered a fall.
Around late morning, deputies responded to property damage at an apartment unit in the Town of Wescott, followed minutes later by a domestic disturbance outside Shawano involving an argument between two adults. The situation was calmed and cleared.
Just before noon, a deputy provided traffic control for a driver changing a flat tire near Highway 22, and another caller reported a suspicious road sign believed to have been taken from the Town of Grant.
Shortly after 12:20 p.m., deputies checked on a possible drug-related welfare concern involving children in Tigerton.
The afternoon brought multiple traffic incidents, including non-reportable crashes near Town Line Road in Bonduel, Highway 29, and Hatchery Road. No major injuries were reported.
Deputies also took two reports of criminal damage, both in the Shawano area, and responded to a trespassing complaint in Gresham.
Around 3:20 p.m., crews were sent to assist at a fire-related call in Shawano, though details indicate no major hazards.
Throughout the late afternoon and evening, deputies handled several disabled vehicles scattered across the county, along with two reports of reckless driving on Highway 29.
Stockbridge-Munsee Police also reported a drug-related case early in the day in Wittenberg, along with vehicle issues and another drug call later that evening.
In total, the Sheriff’s Office logged 33 calls, while Stockbridge-Munsee Police reported five.
