TIGERTON, WI – A late-night fire in Tigerton left a home destroyed and two people injured on Wednesday, according to local officials. The Tigerton Fire Department was dispatched around 10:15 p.m. to a two-story house on Pine Street, where crews arrived to find the home and its attached garage fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters requested assistance from several neighboring departments as they worked to bring the blaze under control.
First responders located one victim in the driveway suffering from severe third-degree burns. The individual received immediate treatment from Tigerton Area Ambulance personnel, with support from the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office and Shawano Ambulance Service, before being airlifted to a hospital. A second victim was transported by ambulance for smoke inhalation.
As of Friday evening, officials said no updates were available regarding the conditions of either victim. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
