SHAWANO POLICE DEPARTMENT
The day in the City of Shawano began with officers assisting medical personnel on an early-morning ambulance call. Not long afterward, police helped with a vehicle lockout on South Park Street.
Around 8 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call at County Road B. Security personnel at the location confirmed the situation was under control and no emergency existed.
In another call early in the day, Shawano Police were asked to provide extended extra patrol for a residence in the Gresham area, after the homeowner requested checks while away for several months.
Mid-morning brought a coordinated police and fire response to South Union Street for a report of a gas leak. Fire officials confirmed that the gas had already been shut off before crews arrived, allowing responders to secure the scene without lights or sirens.
Throughout the day, officers conducted multiple welfare checks. One concerned a caller on Maurer Street who reported people inside the home who “weren’t supposed to be there,” though officers reported no signs of danger or distress after checking the residence. Another call involved an individual in the wooded area behind Arrowcast, recently released from custody, who contacted dispatch seeking assistance.
Multiple 911 hang-ups were logged as well, with officers tracing and checking on several callers who either hung up prematurely or did not respond to callbacks.
Mid-day, officers were called to South Airport Drive after a report that railroad crossing lights were behaving erratically—flashing when no train was present, then failing to activate properly when one approached. Crews verified the malfunction and forwarded the issue to the railroad operator.
Police also mediated a civil dispute at a business on South Main Street, where a caller claimed their vehicle had been damaged by a door striking it in the parking lot.
Shortly after 1:30 p.m., Probation and Parole contacted police regarding a domestic disturbance involving one of their clients. Multiple officers responded, and the investigation continued through the afternoon.
Animal control was requested later in the day at a reportedly abandoned home where three dogs had been barking for more than an hour. The animals were still on the property despite a prior court order requiring removal.
Officers also recovered several bicycles on West 4th Street after a resident found them abandoned in their yard.
As evening arrived, police were dispatched to a laundromat for a disorderly conduct complaint. Witnesses said a woman believed to be under the influence was tearing down signs, throwing rugs, and disturbing patrons before leaving in a cab.
Additional welfare checks continued into the night, including one involving a driver found slumped over in a truck at the Walmart parking lot. Officers made contact and ensured no medical emergency was occurring.
Later in the evening, a driver contacted police from County Road B, reporting that a suspicious vehicle had followed them from the airport area. Officers investigated and cleared the situation.
CLINTONVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT
Clintonville Police also reported a steady workflow on the 24th.
The day began with extra patrols on 20th Street and Anne Street. A short time later, officers conducted a traffic stop at North 12th Street and West Green Tree Road.
Before 9 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Industrial Drive, then assisted with another vehicle lockout on Primrose Circle.
Around mid-morning, officers investigated a traffic complaint near South Main and Maple Lawn Drive. They then handled a civil complaint from Lincoln Avenue and a harassment complaint from West Morning Glory Drive.
Another lockout was reported on Bennett Street just before lunchtime.
At late morning, the department’s school resource officer conducted a scheduled presentation for students on West Green Tree Road.
Two more traffic stops occurred during the afternoon at North Main and West Green Tree Road.
In the early evening, officers investigated a fraud complaint on South Clinton Avenue.
The day came to a close with a final traffic stop just before 10 p.m. on North Main Street.
SHAWANO COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office logged an equally active day, beginning just after 5 a.m. when an individual arrived at the Sheriff’s Office to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant.
At about 8 a.m., deputies responded to Lime Kiln Road after stray cattle were spotted near a roadway. Deputies safely moved the animals away from traffic.
Only minutes later, emergency crews were called to Highway 29 and Paradise Lane for a vehicle fire. The incident was contained, and no major injuries were reported.
Deputies also responded to a reckless-driving complaint on Highway 29 near County Road C. Shortly after, a caller reported that a vehicle driven by their son had rolled over on County Road GG near Caroline. The driver was not injured and declined medical transport.
A welfare check followed on County Road MMM after a medical alarm activation could not be confirmed. Deputies used a lockbox number provided by dispatch to check the residence.
Several 911 hang-ups occurred throughout the morning, with deputies investigating calls involving silence, dropped connections, or incomplete location data.
At the Ho-Chunk Casino, security reported that alarms would be temporarily activated as part of a system test. Later in the morning, a separate alarm was mistakenly triggered by a security contractor conducting maintenance.
Around midday, urgent care staff contacted deputies to report a dog bite that had occurred over the weekend. Deputies collected information for follow-up.
Deputies also assisted a homeowner locked out of a residence on County Road K and took a report of identity theft from a caller in the Clintonville area.
In the afternoon, a landowner in Pulaski reported that hay had been taken from his field several weeks earlier. Another caller contacted dispatch after striking a deer near Nichols Road. A separate caller on Fairview Road reported that gunfire from a neighboring property during deer hunting was entering their land, prompting an information report.
Later, deputies assisted Outagamie County Sheriff’s deputies in dispatching an injured deer near Hofa Park Road.
During the evening, callers on Cedar Street reported a suspicious vehicle that appeared to be following several teenagers leaving a nearby business. Deputies checked the area and gathered information.
At the end of the night, deputies green-tagged a disabled trailer along Highway 29 and scheduled a follow-up check for 48 hours later.
STOCKBRIDGE-MUNSEE POLICE
The Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department handled one notable call Monday evening. Officers responded to a disturbance on Knoke Street in Gresham, where a woman was reported causing a disturbance inside a residence and attempting to take items from the home. Officers restored order and completed an investigation at the scene.
