MANAWA, WI – Students at Little Wolf High School in Manawa are rallying around veterans this holiday season with a creative fundraising challenge aimed at supporting residents of the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King. The school’s student council and FFA chapter have teamed up to raise money, and for every $200 collected, a staff member has volunteered to take a pie to the face.
Teacher Jeff Bortle is first in line, with several other staff members, and even Manawa Police Chief Jason Severson, agreeing to participate if donations reach the top goal of $2,000.
All funds raised will be used to purchase items from the veterans home’s official wish list, helping ensure residents receive needed supplies and holiday gifts. Students are also creating handmade Christmas cards to spread cheer and show appreciation.
Donations will be accepted through November 25 at the Little Wolf High School office.
