SHAWANO, WI – The Shawano Country Chamber of Commerce is officially gearing up for a major milestone as it prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2026. Executive Director Suzanne Whitman says planning is already underway for a series of special events designed to honor the Chamber’s history while engaging the community throughout the coming year.
Whitman says the centennial celebration will feature live entertainment and a master of ceremonies, both of which have been secured, though details have not yet been released. She notes that more announcements will be made once plans are finalized. “We’re planning on having live entertainment, so that’s exciting,” Whitman said, adding that official details will be shared soon.
As a nonprofit organization, Whitman says the Chamber remains committed to supporting local businesses and offering programs that strengthen the community. One of those initiatives is Leadership Shawano County, a program she says highlights people who consistently go above and beyond in service to others.
The upcoming celebration will also include the announcement of the Chamber’s annual Distinguished Citizen Award, recognizing an individual who demonstrates exceptional leadership and civic involvement.
More information on the centennial events and award presentations is expected to be released in the coming weeks and months as planning continues.
