OCONTO FALLS, WI – With gun deer season just days away, Rocky Ridge Shooters Supply owner Mark Micoley is urging hunters to double-check their equipment before heading into the woods. Micoley says the final stretch before opening weekend is not the time to discover problems with gear that could have been addressed weeks earlier.
“Getting down to the last four days here, I’ve literally got people walking in saying they forgot their gun was broken last year,” Micoley said. “Well, it isn’t going to get fixed in time now.”
He says ammunition and scopes are flying off the shelves as hunters rush to make last-minute preparations. Micoley adds that once the season ends, hunters should bring in any equipment that needs work right away rather than waiting until the next fall.
By checking gear early and addressing issues promptly, Micoley says hunters can help ensure a safer and more successful deer season.
