Shawano Police officers handled a variety of calls through the day, beginning overnight with a 911 pocket dial on Waukechon Street and County Trunk B. A welfare check followed later that morning.
At Olga Brener School, the school liaison officer responded to a student-related complaint, while extra patrols were conducted in several neighborhoods.
Around 10 a.m., police investigated a report of reckless driving on West Lieg Street. A short time later, officers assisted Brown County deputies with a case in Krakow and took one person into custody on a probation warrant at the local Department of Corrections office.
Later in the morning brought a fire assist on South Lutz Street after a carbon monoxide alarm went off at a home. No serious injuries were reported. Officers also investigated a possible case of elderly neglect at Birch Hill Care Center and handled a minor parking lot accident at Charlie’s County Market.
During the evening, police responded to an assault on South Humphrey Circle, helped unlock a vehicle at McDonald’s, and took two welfare checks — one at ThedaCare Medical Center and another on East Richmond Street.
A noise complaint on South Water Street and a 3 a.m. 911 hang-up closed out the night.
Clintonville officers started the day with an OWI arrest shortly after midnight on Highway 45 and Lakeshore Road. Several ambulance calls were handled throughout the day, including medical responses on 8th, 7th, and 6th Streets.
Police also carried out extra patrols around schools on West Green Tree Road and took part in community engagement activities both downtown and near the schools.
Several suspicious activity calls were investigated — including reports on 7th Street and Beacon Avenue — along with a threatening complaint on Harriet Street around 5 p.m.
Traffic stops were conducted across the city, including South Main Street, 8th Street, and at Reinke Road later in the evening. Officers also responded to a noise complaint on 6th Street just after 10 p.m.
Shawano County Deputies handled a busy Veterans Day across Shawano County, responding to several traffic incidents and routine calls for service.
The morning began with a report of a traffic hazard on Highway 22 near Pioneer Road in Clintonville, followed shortly by multiple deer-related crashes — including one near mile marker 195 on Highway 29 in the Town of Herman and another on Highway 45 near Hahn Road by Tigerton. No injuries were reported in those crashes.
Deputies also assisted a driver who locked their keys inside a vehicle on Spruce Road near Shawano and responded to a complaint of barking dogs on Loon Lake Drive later in the afternoon.
Around noon, a man came to the sheriff’s lobby on North Main Street to report a threatening incident. That case was investigated and closed. Deputies also provided transport assistance for a jail inmate to the emergency room that same hour.
Throughout the evening, several disabled vehicles were reported along Highway 29 and Highway 45, including one near Rose Brook Road and another just outside Pulaski. A reckless driving complaint on Highway 29 near Wittenberg and a reported disturbance in Eland rounded out the night.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office reminds drivers to be alert for deer on the move this fall and to report any hazards on area highways.
