NEOPIT, WI – A Menominee County man will spend the next 30 years in federal prison for a violent assault that left his girlfriend severely injured.
According to prosecutors, Nee Gee Cloud broke into the woman’s home in Neopit in September 2024, where he beat her unconscious and continued the assault for nearly 20 minutes. The brutal attack was partially captured on a home security camera, which alerted the homeowner and prompted a quick call to tribal police.
Responding officers arrived at the scene and arrested Cloud outside the residence shortly after the assault.
Cloud was sentenced Monday by Federal Judge William Griesbach, who also ordered him to pay more than $2,000 in restitution. Prosecutors say the sentence reflects the severity of the crime and the lasting harm done to the victim.
