Shawano Police officers were called out to E. Elizabeth Street and South Maiden Lane early Monday morning for a drug-related incident. Police arrested a suspect identified in dispatch logs as Brandi, who was taken to the county jail. That case remains under investigation.
Later in the morning, another drug-related report came from the Shawano County Jail, where staff found suspected narcotics on an inmate. Officers from the city police responded and collected the evidence.
In other calls—officers assisted with a lift assist on South Park Street, helping a resident back into bed, and handled a non-reportable car crash on East Green Bay Street involving a 2012 Chevy Impala. No injuries were reported.
Police also investigated a series of burglar alarms—including two at the VFW Clubhouse on Olson Street and another at CoVantage Credit Union on South Main. Each time, officers found the buildings secure.
During the evening, officers checked on a suspicious vehicle at the Dollar Tree on Woodlawn Drive after reports of a silver Pontiac circling the lot multiple times. Police made contact, and the situation was cleared without incident.
Other calls included an animal noise complaint on West Swan Street, a welfare check, and a 911 hang-up overnight near Waukechon Street and County Highway B—no emergency was found.
Clintonville officers handled a variety of calls Monday, including a 911 call on Waupaca Street and an ambulance response on Shaw Street.
Police also assisted with a mutual aid request in Shawano, near East Elizabeth Street and Maiden Lane, early Monday morning.
Officers responded to a lost-and-found report on South Main Street, a business assist on Club House Drive, and helped with a disabled vehicle on Brent Street.
A pair of suspicious activity calls came in from Memorial Circle and South Main Street, while officers also handled an animal complaint near Robert and 15th Streets.
Traffic kept police busy throughout the evening with several stops—on Highway 45 near County O, 15th and North Main, and Lakeshore Road—as well as a traffic issue at South Main and 7th Street.
Shawano County Deputies responded to a busy Monday across Shawano County, handling everything from vehicle crashes to animal calls and theft reports.
Several car-versus-deer accidents were reported throughout the day — including incidents near Highway 29 in Bonduel, Bowler, and Pella. None of the drivers were injured, though one vehicle was reported as totaled.
In Cecil, deputies investigated a suspicious vehicle early Monday morning after a resident reported a white pickup driving past their home multiple times. Later in the day, a white box truck left running at Burger King in Shawano drew another suspicious vehicle call.
Deputies were called to Aspirus Wittenberg for a commercial alarm early in the morning, which turned out to be a false alarm, and assisted with several disabled vehicles along Highway 29 and other county roads.
A disturbance on Old Shawano Road, a reckless driving complaint in Shawano, and a welfare check in Wittenberg also kept officers busy.
In one of the more unusual reports, a caller told deputies they’d been receiving unwanted emails from an ex-spouse, while another caller in Oshkosh reported seeing a driver who appeared intoxicated after walking into a pole.
And the Stockbridge-Munsee Police handled a theft at North Star Casino, where a jacket was taken — but casino security caught the suspect on video and identified them.
