OCONTO, WI – An Oconto first responder is being recognized for his outstanding dedication and service to the community. Deputy Chief Ryan Pecha has been named the 2025 First Responder of the Year for Wisconsin’s 4th Assembly District, an honor presented by Representative David Steffen of Howard.
Pecha has served as an EMT and firefighter for 21 years, earning recognition for his leadership, professionalism, and commitment to protecting the people of Oconto. Representative Steffen said it was his privilege to honor Pecha, calling him “one of the very best in the community.”
The award was presented during a State Capitol ceremony in Madison, where first responders from across Wisconsin were celebrated for their bravery and dedication to public service.
