SHAWANO, WI- Shawano’s downtown will come alive this weekend with the sights, sounds, and flavors of Oktoberfest. The annual celebration takes place Saturday, bringing live music, local vendors, and plenty of family-friendly activities to the heart of the community.
Event coordinator Lindsey Johnson with Shawano Downtown BID says the entertainment lineup will feature something for everyone. “Our Oktoberfest polka bands, that’ll be in the neighborhood from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.,” Johnson said.
Along with the music, visitors are encouraged to stop by the Franklin Park Farmers Market as its season winds down. Vendors, food, and seasonal offerings will add to the festive atmosphere.
Johnson says the event also highlights family activities. “It’s a great event to bring the whole family to, a lot of great free family fun going on,” she said. Shawano County 4-H will offer kids’ crafts, while the Shawano Area Early Childhood Partnership is planning games for children.
The celebration runs from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. in downtown Shawano, welcoming residents and visitors alike to gather and enjoy a day of fall fun.
