The Shawano Police Department handled a variety of calls on Sunday. Just after 3:30 in the morning, officers assisted staff from ThedaCare Medical Center on East Randall Street with securing a resident. Later in the afternoon, dispatchers received a 911 call from South Washington Street. Officers responded and cleared the scene within about 20 minutes.
Around 7:45 that evening, police conducted a welfare check at Domino’s Pizza on East Green Bay Street after concerns were raised about a 19-year-old woman experiencing mental health challenges. Officers made contact and stayed on scene for more than half an hour.
At about 9 p.m., a resident on East Lieg Avenue reported a reckless driver speeding through a dead-end road at about 45 miles per hour. The caller described the vehicle as a black two-door car with chrome rims.
Later that night, shortly after 10 o’clock, police responded to a disturbance on South Sawyer Street. A caller reported loud screaming and objects being thrown. Officers remained at the scene until after midnight to restore order.
And just after midnight Monday morning, officers were called to Estates Lane for a welfare check. A caller reported seeing a limping dog in the parking lot and expressed concern for the pet’s owner. Police made contact at the apartment building and resolved the situation.
Clintonville Police Officers handled two ambulance calls, one on Brix Street in the evening and another on North 12th Street earlier in the day. Police also provided mutual aid on Bertram Street and assisted a citizen on Industrial Avenue.
Several traffic-related incidents were reported, including stops on Memorial Circle, South Main Street at West Campus Drive, and at South Main and West Madison Street. Officers also responded to a traffic complaint in that same area.
Police were called to a family situation on South Main Street in the early afternoon, and later conducted business and tavern checks downtown.
Other calls included a welfare check on 7th Street, an open door reported on Waupaca Street, a noise complaint on Stewart Street, and extra patrols around Memorial Circle.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to 36 calls for service on Sunday.
Deputies handled several emergency calls, including multiple 911 hang-ups across the county. Among the notable incidents was a disturbance in Gresham Sunday morning, followed by two reports of reckless driving—one along Highway 22 near Clintonville and another on Highway 47 near Bonduel.
Just before 11:45 a.m., deputies were called to the Kwik Trip in Bonduel for a hit-and-run crash. A parked vehicle was struck, and witnesses left a note with the suspect’s plate number, helping investigators track down the driver.
Animal-related calls also kept deputies busy. A neglected stray dog was reported near Wittenberg, and a separate call described a dog with spray paint on its tail. Later in the day, a Pulaski woman sought medical attention after being bitten by a feral cat.
Other incidents included the theft of a road-closed sign, a trespassing complaint on private hunting land near Cecil, and an attempted burglary reported in Bonduel. Deputies also investigated a threatening complaint in Tigerton, suspicious vehicles in Shiocton and at a Dollar General in Gresham, and an inmate issue at the county jail.
In addition, the Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department reported one case—investigating a counterfeit $100 bill at North Star Casino.
Authorities say all incidents are under review, and many remain active investigations.
