NEW LONDON, WI – The New London School Board has officially approved its 2025-26 budget, a plan that includes a 9.5 percent increase in the district’s tax levy and a 4.3 percent rise in overall spending.
Business Services Director Joe Marquardt said the budget was crafted with the goal of balancing the needs of staff, students, and taxpayers while continuing to provide high-quality educational opportunities.
Under the new plan, the mill rate is expected to rise from $5.33 to $5.55 per $1,000 of taxable property value, assuming a 5 percent increase in property valuations. The budget also includes a 2.95 percent wage increase for district staff, part of a continued effort to attract and retain quality educators.
Marquardt emphasized that the financial plan is designed to “move the district forward” and deliver ongoing improvements for students year after year.
