SHAWANO, WI – The Shawano County Board of Supervisors voted Wednesday to approve a 2% across-the-board pay increase for county employees, effective October 1.
Chairman Tom Kautza told the board that the move is part of a broader effort to support and retain staff. “When combined with previous adjustments, employees will see a total pay boost of roughly 7.5%,” Kautza said. The approved plan also includes a 3% raise already built into next year’s budget.
District 27 Supervisor Tess Serrano stressed the importance of the pay plan, saying competitive wages are crucial for attracting and keeping quality workers. County leaders noted that the funds for the raise are already available in this year’s budget thanks to salary savings from staff turnover.
The decision aims to reward employees for their work and contributions, ensuring Shawano County remains a competitive employer going forward.
