One Dead, Two Injured in Head-On Crash in Oconto County

GILLETT, WI- One person is dead and two others are hurt after a crash Saturday morning in Oconto County. The Sheriff’s Office says it happened just after 10:30 near Highway 22 and Old 22 Road in the Town of Gillett.
Deputies found a Volkswagen SUV in the ditch and a Chevrolet pickup in the southbound lane, both heavily damaged. Investigators say the SUV crossed the center line and hit the truck head-on. The 24-year-old SUV driver died at the scene, while his two-year-old passenger and the 22-year-old truck driver were taken to a Green Bay hospital.
