Shawano Police handled a wide range of calls on Wednesday. Officers responded to a complaint on East Maurer Street where a bicycle had been thrown over a fence and left on private property for about a week. The bike was recovered and tagged by police.
Later in the morning, police were called to Walmart on East Green Bay Street for two separate issues. First, an abandoned utility van had been sitting in the lot for several days. While investigating, officers also took a report of vandalism—two young males had spray-painted vulgar messages in the parking lot on September 15th. The incident was caught on video, and police are reviewing the evidence.
Around midday, officers conducted a welfare check outside Dunham Sports after a caller reported suspicious behavior involving two young adults in a vehicle.
Police were also dispatched to ThedaCare Medical Center for a vehicle lockout, which was resolved without incident.
Later in the day, Shawano Health Services reported possible neglect or abuse at the facility over the weekend, which is now under investigation.
Other calls included the theft of an electric bike from a South Franklin Street garage, threatening messages reported on West Pine Street, and a domestic disturbance at Mountain Bay Trail Drive.
Clintonville Police handled a busy day of calls on Wednesday. Officers conducted several routine traffic stops and business checks throughout the city. In the morning, they were called to South Main Street for a traffic hazard and to Modoc Street for an animal problem. Later, a report of threatening behavior came in from West Green Tree Road.
Around mid-afternoon, police responded to a lockout on 16th Street and then to a gas leak reported on North Clinton Avenue. That was followed by a stray animal complaint on East Morning Glory Drive.
Calls continued into the evening, including two 911 calls, a report of a suspicious person on South Main Street, and a noise complaint on East First Street. Officers also handled ordinance violations, extra patrol requests, and several more traffic stops, wrapping up their day near McKinley Avenue and Hughes Street.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled a wide range of calls on Wednesday.
Deputies reported two separate cases of individuals failing to return to the county’s work release facility, both logged at Engel Drive.
In the morning, officers responded to a disturbance outside the Dollar General in Cecil, where a man and woman were reported fighting in the parking lot. Deputies also assisted other law enforcement agencies, including Marinette County in connection with a double fatal crash investigation.
Throughout the day, deputies investigated multiple reckless driving complaints, including reports from County Road R, Willow Road in Pulaski, and later near Tony and Julius Streets in Krakow.
Theft was also reported at the Ho-Chunk Casino, where $240 was taken from a machine while the customer briefly stepped away. In Bonduel, a resident on South Cecil Street reported signs of a possible burglary attempt after finding damage to her apartment door.
Other calls included a welfare check after a suicidal social media post, a deer-related traffic accident in Tigerton, several traffic hazards across the county, harassment complaints in Shawano and Clintonville, and a suspicious vehicle on Waukechon Road.
The day wrapped up with an OWI arrest late Wednesday night near County Roads G and E in Richmond Township.
In all, the Sheriff’s Office logged 34 incidents for the day, with several cases still under investigation.
