KESHENA, WI – Governor Tony Evers marked National Clean Energy Week with a visit to Keshena on Tuesday, touring two major solar energy initiatives on the Menominee Reservation.
Evers visited the Menominee Community Kitchen Solar Project and the Menominee Elder Home Solar and Battery Backup Project. Both projects are led by Sun Bear Industries in partnership with the Menominee Nation and aim to strengthen energy independence by outfitting homes and community facilities with solar power systems.
During the visit, Evers praised the Menominee Nation for its long-standing commitment to sustainability and stewardship of natural resources. He said building a clean energy economy remains one of his top priorities as he enters the final stretch of his term as governor.
