OCONTO COUNTY, WI – The number of measles cases in Oconto County is climbing, with state health officials confirming 23 cases as of Friday’s update from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. That’s up from 14 the week prior.
Two of the patients have required hospitalization, according to the report. Officials noted that all of the confirmed cases so far have been among unvaccinated individuals.
Health leaders warned last week that the virus has begun spreading within the community, marking a shift from earlier cases in August that were linked to out-of-state travel.
