It was a busy day for Shawano Police, with several incidents keeping officers on their toes across the city.
The day began just after midnight when officers assisted a woman on South Lincoln Street after her husband fell next to the bed. He wasn’t injured but needed help getting up and into her vehicle.
Later that morning, Birch Hill Health Care staff called police after a resident reportedly tried to leave the building and refused to take his medication. Officers responded and helped resolve the situation peacefully.
A minor traffic accident was reported outside the police department around noon. No injuries occurred, and the damage was deemed non-reportable.
Meanwhile, tensions flared outside Charlie’s County Market, where officers investigated a verbal dispute between a man and woman. The man left the scene, and the woman was found with her belongings dumped from her purse.
Police also responded to a property complaint involving unregistered boats and vehicles piling up in an alley on Bartlett Street, as well as a report of a tied-up dog near a dumpster. Officers found no animals when they arrived.
A two-car accident at Eagle and Bartlett Streets caused concern, but both drivers were out of their vehicles and alert when officers arrived.
Later in the day, a suspicious man was reported handing out disturbing stories to women outside Hope Community Church, prompting concern from staff.
And finally, Shawano officers assisted Winnebago County deputies at a Picnic Street apartment just before 8 p.m., as part of a coordinated law enforcement effort.
Clintonville Police responded to a series of routine calls, with no major incidents reported.
The day began just after midnight with a welfare check on West Morning Glory Drive. Officers verified the individual’s well-being.
A traffic stop was conducted around 3 a.m. at West Madison and Bennett Street. No further details were released.
Officers then made their rounds conducting multiple business checks across the city, including stops on 16th Street, Industrial Avenue, East Green Tree Road, and Main Street — all part of regular overnight patrols.
In the afternoon, a second traffic stop occurred near 10th and Main Streets, followed by a citizen assist call on South Main Street shortly before 3 p.m.
The department remained active into the evening with additional traffic enforcement and citizen interactions.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled a wide range of calls, including disturbances, traffic incidents, and public safety concerns.
The day started just after midnight with a welfare check in the Town of Wescott, where a woman reported her father was experiencing a mental health crisis and believed he was in Pennsylvania.
At 1:30 a.m., deputies were dispatched to Tigerton for a domestic disturbance involving shouting and pounding inside an apartment. No serious injuries were reported.
Later that morning, A man turned himself in at the Shawano County Jail on a warrant.
Elsewhere, deputies responded to a theft in Shawano where tools and gas cans were stolen from a parked truck. The suspect also attempted to break into two other vehicles.
A funeral escort was provided across Highway 117, and a fender bender at a local Kwik Trip resulted in no injuries or traffic blockages.
A woman in Birnamwood reported that her ex-boyfriend may have installed a tracking device on her car. Meanwhile, a suspicious van parked near a school in Wittenberg raised concerns, but the situation was cleared.
One of the more serious incidents involved an inmate at the county jail wrapping a sweatshirt around his neck and losing consciousness. Emergency crews responded, and medical care was provided.
Other calls included reports of reckless driving, 911 hang-ups, stray animals, and a deer hit near Hortonville. Deputies also addressed loitering, threats, and fraud cases across the county.
In total, the Sheriff’s Office logged 49 incidents, reflecting a busy day of protecting and serving the community.
