The WIAA Regional Finals for Softball took place on Thursday. Winners advance to Sectionals on Tuesday.

Preble Holds Off Hortonville to Win Regional Title
Green Bay Preble stayed perfect on the season, holding off a late Hortonville rally to win 6-4 in a Division 1 regional final Friday. The Hornets jumped out to a 5-0 lead early and hung on in the seventh with the tying run at the plate. Katie Geydoshek earned the win, striking out seven in a complete game. Tenley Kuehn led Preble with two RBIs, while Bella Dontje had two hits and two RBIs for Hortonville.
Kimberly Tops De Pere to Claim Regional Crown
Kimberly powered past De Pere 5-3 on the road Friday to capture a Division 1 regional championship. Addie Parish hit a solo home run and an RBI triple, while Sophie Hermus and Brecken Ludtke added back-to-back homers in the fifth and sixth innings to lead the Papermakers. Isabella Ellestad struck out seven in a complete-game win, holding De Pere to five hits.

FVL Edges Seymour in Pitcher’s Duel to Stay Unbeaten
Olivia Fischer’s RBI single in the fourth inning was the difference as Fox Valley Lutheran topped Seymour 1-0 to win a Division 2 regional title. Madison Babcock tossed a five-hit shutout with nine strikeouts to keep the Foxes perfect at 26-0. Seymour’s Kendra Rettler struck out six and had two hits, but took the tough-luck loss.

Bonduel Shuts Out Oconto to Capture Regional Title
Behind a dominant outing from Emery Thompson, Bonduel blanked Oconto 2-0 to win a Division 4 regional championship. Thompson struck out seven and allowed just two baserunners, while Jayla Reinke and Taylor Rank drove in the Bears’ runs.
