SHAWANO, WI- A new chapter is beginning for local veterans as the Shawano VFW Post 2723 prepares to break ground on a brand-new facility.
A groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Monday, May 5 at 1:00 p.m. at 820 Olson Street in Shawano. Community members are invited to attend and show their support for the veterans and volunteers who serve through the organization.
The event will mark the start of construction on a 3,820-square-foot building designed to provide updated space and amenities for the post’s activities, events, and veteran support services.
The new facility is being developed in partnership with Bayland Buildings, Inc., an employee-owned construction company based in Wisconsin. The project reflects a commitment to continuing the mission of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in Shawano and beyond.
Leaders from the post, along with local officials and supporters, are expected to be on hand for the ceremonial turning of the soil, celebrating a future space that will better serve veterans, their families, and the Shawano community.
