ROYALTON, WI- We are learning more about a terrifying crash involving his three young girls who were getting off of a school bus Tuesday in Waupaca County. A truck pulling a trailer slammed into the back of a stopped school bus on Highway 54 near Royalton. The family says the girls suffered bumps and bruises, but no one was seriously hurt. The driver blamed the sun’s glare, but the investigation continues.
A truck pulling a trailer crashed into the rear of a stopped school bus Tuesday afternoon in Waupaca County, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Highway 54 and Pine Street in the Town of Royalton.
Doorbell security footage captured the moment the westbound truck failed to stop, slamming into the bus and pushing it forward. At the time of the crash, two students had already exited, one was in the process of stepping off, and another remained on board.
Despite the severity of the collision, authorities reported no serious injuries.
Emergency responders from the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, Manawa Fire Department, Manawa Ambulance, and Gold Cross Ambulance arrived quickly to assess the scene and provide assistance.
