SHAWANO – Shawano Downtown is thrilled to announce the 30th annual Santa Parade, sponsored by Charlie’s County Market, set for Friday, December 6, at 6 p.m. This year’s theme, “An Old-Fashioned Christmas,” promises to bring a nostalgic holiday atmosphere to the streets of downtown Shawano.
Since its start in 1994 as the Holiday Stroll, which drew a modest crowd of 200 enjoying wagon rides and roasted chestnuts, the event has grown into a community favorite, now known as the Shawano Santa Parade. Thousands of locals and visitors line Main Street on the first Friday of December to watch the parade and join in holiday cheer.
The tradition of the Holiday Stroll returned in 2018 and is now held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This event, scheduled for November 30 this year, features visits with Santa, reindeer, marshmallow roasting, wagon rides, and a stunning display of over 100 Christmas trees, ending with a festive tree lighting ceremony. Aligning with Small Business Saturday, the Holiday Stroll offers a chance to kick off the holiday season while supporting local businesses.
Mark your calendars for a full season of Christmas cheer in Shawano Downtown! Join the Holiday Stroll and Tree Lighting on Saturday, November 30, and don’t miss the Santa Parade on Friday, December 6. For details on holiday events, visit www.shawanodowntown.com.
