SHAWANO, WI- Area law enforcement spent some time with a group of kids at this year’s Cops and Bobbers fishing event, Thursday at Huckleberry Harbor.
“It really builds trust among officers and the kids,” said Captian Shane Stange of the Shawano Police Department. “I asked one of the kids what is the best summer event so far and he said, this was.”
Officers from the Shawano Police Department, Shawano County Sheriff’s Department, the DNR and nearby law enforcement agencies spent two hours fishing with about two dozen kids from the community.
Prizes were handed out for biggest fish and most fish caught. This year, 9 year old Brixon Wegner of Shawano caught 9 fish with Captain Shane Stange to claim the most fish caught prize.
