OCONTO FALLS, WI- State Representative David Steffen hosted a community gathering in Oconto Falls on May 8th, aiming to acquaint himself with the constituents newly added to his purview due to recent redistricting efforts.
Following a contentious court battle and subsequent approval by the legislature last winter, Governor Tony Evers’ redrawn maps reconfigured the 4th Assembly District to encompass parts of southeastern Oconto County, effective from the upcoming term commencing on January 7, 2025.
Formerly representing primarily suburban areas, Steffen acknowledged the shift in demographics, emphasizing the importance of understanding the unique needs of his new rural constituents.
