Update: The water main was repaired and water was restored to businesses and residents at 3:00pm.
BONDUEL, WI- A construction related water main break has occurred in Bonduel. Municipal Operations Director Jesse Rankin says they experienced two separate breaks.
“The breaks are on South Cecil Street with one in the construction area and one outside of the construction area,” Rankin said. “The one that was outside of the construction zone will take a little longer.” Rankin said the one in the construction zone is fixed already. He said they have to work on tearing up the road outside the construction area.
Homes and businesses in the area of South Street to Mill Street are temporarily out of water. “That is all the way from KI to The Mill,” Rankin added.
“We have old water lines, so anytime you touch them or work with them they could break.
Residents and businesses that have been impacted should run cold water for a little bit once the water is turned back on.
“We flush the water system at the hydrant before we turn the water back on, but the water line is pressurized, so no dirt can get in there.”
Drivers should use caution driving in the area.
