CLINTONVILLE, WI- The Clintonville Rec Center is set to implement a 15% increase in membership fees, following approval from the Clintonville School Board during its April 8 meeting. This decision also extends to special programs offered by the Rec Center, aligning with rates observed in comparative research conducted by the Clintonville School District.
During deliberations, Rec Center director Ashley Flanagan initially proposed a rate increase of approximately 10%. Concerns were raised regarding the timing of the last rate adjustment, with Flanagan noting that the previous increase dated back to around 2009.
Flanagan emphasized the need for a balanced approach, highlighting the delicate balance between revenue generation and maintaining accessibility for all members. Board President Ben Huber advocated for incremental rate adjustments, emphasizing the importance of revisiting the issue annually to ensure financial sustainability.
As discussions continue, the Clintonville Rec Center navigates the delicate balance of fiscal responsibility and community accessibility in its pursuit of sustainable operations.
