SHAWANO, WI- The Shawano County Board will have some new faces this year, but also will see the results of some redistricting.
Jeremy Gretzinger was re-elected to the Shawano County Board, but will now take over the seat held by Michael Stupecky in District 7. Gretzinger was the Supervisor for District 14 this last term.
On Tuesday, Gretzinger defeated Stupecky 227 to 98.
“I did do a lot of leg work this year.”
Gretzinger said he learned a lot in his first term, and now their are some big decisions and projects for the next term.
“We are going to work on the new justice center,” Gretzinger said. We are one of two counties in the state that has to take inmates across the street.”
One issue that Gretzinger did speak out about was the water and mold concerns for the Shawano library.
“I spoke up about the library and the water that was getting in there. With my line for work, my job is always to correct that. But my main concern in the safety of the community members.
Gretzinger said he enjoyed time getting to know the members of the new district and he is ready to get to work.
“I am working for you,” Gretzinger said. “I am just gathering the ideas and we need to work as a community. This is not just my decision, it is not about me.”
