SHAWANO, WI- For three days starting on February 28 Samantha Miller’s 7th grade class at Sacred Heart Catholic School was able to capture the beautiful nature and grow in their friendships at Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya!
Students participated in a number of activities including CSI Tracking where they used their knowledge of different animals and habitats to solve a crime scene, Outdoor Living Skills where they were able to build their own shelters using the nature around them, a Night Hike where they used their night vision to see what the world is like when they are sleeping, how to use a compass, scavenger hunts, and learning about different cultures and the world around them! They were also able to have fun on the sled hill, play hockey, Gaga Ball, and had a very exciting snowball fight!
“It is a lot to plan, but I wouldn’t miss or trade making these memories for the students,” said Miller.
Sacred Heart would like to thank Miss Miller for organizing this annual adventure for your class, and to Patrick and Karen Wassenberg, school parents, for chaperoning over the entire duration of the three days!! A special thank you to the staff at Camp U for all of their hard work in preparing and working with the students.
