CLINTONVILLE, WI- At approximately 5:15 Friday morning administration was notified of a potential threat toward students at Clintonville High School. Superintendent Troy Kuhn stated that he contacted the Clintonville Police Department. Police were given all the information and began investigating and making contact with the individual(s) that made the threat over social media.
Erring on the side of caution, a two hour delay was issued in order for the police to not only make contact with the individual(s), but also confirm that the buildings were secure. Lamers Bus Company, Dellwood Daycare, Rec Center, and administration at St. Martins were also contacted.
Administration says thanks to the quick response and cooperation from the police department, they are confident that at no time any students and staff were in danger. There will be increased police presence at the school today to ensure student safety.
“Safety is our top priority, and any type of threat toward an individual(s) or the school will be taken seriously. We will continue to work with law enforcement and follow policy and procedures regarding this incident. Threat assessment is currently in process,” Kuhn said.
In addition, High School students’ final exams will be today, but staff will work with students in case they are absent.
